Binance Signs MoU With Georgia To Boost Crypto and Blockchain Adoption

Binance, the biggest cryptocurrency exchange, and the Agency for Innovation and Technology of Georgia (GITA) have signed a memorandum of understanding. The two groups want to collaborate on blockchain-related educational and community projects, as well as the growth of the cryptocurrency industry in the country as a whole.
CEO of the exchange, Changpeng Zhao met with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in November to discuss investments, which led to the signing of the deal. According to the press release, the collaboration will include local events and hackathons organized by BNB Chain as well as initiatives by Binance Academy and Binance Charity.
Binance’s Regional Director Vladimir Smerkis stated:
“Our goals are in line with the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology’s goals — together, we can create an effective system in Georgia, whereby innovation and technology can be developed.”
Several Initiatives by Binance
Avtandil Kasradze, chairman of the Agency for Innovation and Technology of Georgia (GITA), has said that upcoming hackathons and workshops focused on blockchain technology in the state’s tech parks will help spur the development of novel business concepts and the launch of practical, marketable initiatives.
Not that this is Binance’s first attempt to spread knowledge about digital currencies and blockchain technology in Georgia, a crypto-friendly country that has aspirations to modernize its digital asset legislation and legitimize the business.
In January, the exchange shared the news that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the country’s Business and Technology University (BTU) to provide blockchain education to its pupils. Binance Academy will provide resources to learn about blockchain, Web3, NFTs, and cryptocurrencies.
